Born on April 4th, 1996, in the quiet town of Akwaya, Princewill began his life surrounded by nature and the principles of hard work, family, and faith. From humble beginnings, “I’ve navigated the path from farming with my family to becoming a young, passionate, and dynamic graduate, ready to serve and contribute to the world in more ways than one. Having the ability to work under pressure and as a team, I grew to understand that loyalty is the fastest means to realize your dreams”. Princewill shared some important aspects of his life with me behind closed doors. Princewill hosted our first website for 3years and not even once did we have a shortdown. I have been gathering history; this is our little way to thank him.
Cam Online Media: Can you tell us a bit about your family and early childhood?
Princewill: Akwaya, my birthplace, is a town rich in tradition and community spirit. Growing up in a royal household as the last child in a polygamous family of 21 children, I learned early the value of family unity. My two mothers, Queen Anja Beatrice of blessed memory and Queen Anja Felicitas(My Queen) raised me in an environment where respect and hard work were non-negotiable. My father, Late Chief Dr. Senator Anja Simon Ngwo, was a pillar in our family and community, and his teachings still resonate with me today.
My childhood was filled with farm work, a common activity in Mamfe where I attended nursery and primary school. Though life was modest, the experiences taught me resilience and the importance of community. My siblings greatly shaped my childhood—especially since I couldn’t get away with anything! They are always everywhere, their friend and friends of friends. They’d catch me in the act and discipline me before our parents even knew about it. So I learned to plan every move carefully before I carry them out, this therefore meant I needed approval. so no matter what I wanted, I just had to tell the truth. To this day, I keep in touch with many of the friends I made during those formative years. Friends like Don Carlos, Ojong Bless, Ekane Joel, Liku Bernard Oyong, JOE.TAGEM, Filbert Agborta, Yebuh Solange, Takor Ernest Ayim Florence, Clinton Da Real etc
Navigating the World of Education and Social Life
After primary school, my journey took me to Bamenda, where I started secondary school at GHS Mankon. Life in Bamenda was not easy due to the change in environment, but it was a chapter that shaped me immensely. My mother, ever dedicated, ensured I looked clean and presentable at all times, something I carried with me throughout my life. Football has been my passion since birth, but unfortunately, I never pursued it seriously. Instead, I poured my energy into my relationships and academics, though I was often seen as the “quiet one” in school. I was not a challenge because my activities were mostly centered around sports. I was only popular because of my football skills.

As I transitioned into adulthood, I attended multiple schools, each with its challenges, from GHS Mankon to Progressive Comprehensive College, CCast Bambili, and back to Mankon where I experienced my first significant romantic relationship. School was filled with moments of love, laughter, and learning. My friends—Derrick Shakur, Wasko Blink, Muna Attanatous, Sephora Halasale, Motto Samuel, Yesi Smith, Saji Wilson, Nji Jude, Manka Alida, Ayah Peter, Fru Carrine, Fru Rane, Ngum Collette, Awazi Collette, Fondeh Cliff, Ntse Marius, Perk Kinz and many others—were pivotal in my journey, helping me focus on my studies even when distractions came my way, even though most of it came from some of them.
The Transition into Adulthood: University, Business, and Career Growth
University life began at Bamenda University of Science and Technology (BUST), but I couldn’t complete my final year due to insecurity in the region. I moved to Douala, where I started trading in clothes and fashion. The business wasn’t easy at first, but it picked up and gave me the confidence to continue striving for more.
Still, my family’s values and my father’s wishes pushed me to further my education. I then traveled to Yaounde where I pursued a Diploma in Web Master in 2019/20, followed by an HND in e-commerce and Digital Marketing at JIMIT Higher Institute 2021/22. I eventually earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Software Engineering in 2023—a proud moment. However, that same year, I experienced the most painful event in my life: the loss of my father. His passing left a deep void, but his lessons and love continue to guide me.
Interviewer: It sounds like you had a close-knit family despite the large size. How did this upbringing influence your early years?
Anja Princewill: It taught me a lot about patience and strategy. Growing up with so many siblings meant I had to calculate my moves carefully. There were a lot of challenges, but our parents, especially my father, Chief Dr. Senator Anja Simon Ngwo, made sure we had a strong foundation. He worked hard to ensure all of us were educated and raised in the ways of the Lord. My father is my role model, His teachings are still with me, guiding me through life.

Staying Grounded: Faith, Social Life, and Royal Heritage

I build websites, run SEO for companies, and help with digital marketing. I also design banners, flyers, and promotional materials for various events. I’ve found my passion in helping businesses grow through digital platforms. As a young graduate, my clients are still just a handful, but i believe it will grow and this will equally give me financial prowess and reach out to more people. so most clients now are my friends and family.
Interviewer: What has been the most difficult challenge you’ve faced?
Anja Princewill: The hardest moment of my life was losing my father in 2023. My father and I had a unique relationship; he understood me without words. His death left me shattered, and It’s been a tough journey all along. but I know it’s part of God’s plan. Despite everything, I see His work in my life and remain grateful. I don’t know the definition of this heartbreak and pain. It’s only easy because he prepared us for it. I do not wish this kind of emotional challenge even to an enemy.
“I remember at the morg, tears were running down my eyes like tap water, then my son reached out to clean them. when he saw me in tears he also started crying. I turned and saw my mother, and siblings all in tears. This was killing. Should I follow the dead or live for the living? I had to stop crying, I had to be strong for those who are looking up to me. My son was crying because he saw me crying. A pain he did not know. It would have been unfair to continue crying and leaving him in that pain.
So these past months can only destroy me or create a shield that will carry me. I tell myself this is God’s plan and when I think of Isaiah 46:4 it says “Until you grow old. I am the one, and until you turn gray I will support you. I have done it, and I will continue to bear it; I will support and I will rescue you. This verse was exactly what I needed and it came at the time most needed. What proof do I still need to recognize that I’m never alone?

Anja Princewill: I’m proud of the resilience I’ve developed through every stage of my life. From navigating my childhood in a big family to starting my own business and getting to where I am in my education, I’ve learned the importance of persistence, especially in love and hard work. I’m most proud of my family. I equally appreciate the guidance from my mentor, Sabali Jeo, who has been my brother and helped me on my journey to becoming a web developer. Today, I freelance and do web management services, assisting businesses to reach new heights.

They bring joy to my life, and I strive to be a positive role model for them, just as my father was for me. My children motivate me to keep pushing forward, even when times are tough. When I think of love, I think about my Mother. And as I navigate life, I realize that a mother’s love is unquestionable.
